2017 was an exciting year for me. I made no less than five exhibitions this year, and showed several new works that feels important to me. Also I got a big grant from BKV (Billedkunstnernes Vederlagsfond), and sold some works, including three works to USA. To pack and ship those were a good learning process.
The year started with me participating in Kunstnernes åpne klimamikk 2017 at the library Deichmannske in Oslo. I talked about the work Passepartout-Passport that I was about to show in my exhibition at Gallery Vanntårnet in March. For that show I was invited by Nesodden Kunstforening together with ceramic Ruta Pakarklyte. Among other works, I also showed the triptych Erebu.
Next was the show Ingenmannsland in May at Tenthaus Oslo with Johan Urban Berqvist/Count Pukebeard and Aleksander Johan Andreassen. It was curated by the gallery. There I exhibited The Three No's, a work that means a lot to me.
After the summer brake I made an exhibition at Ås Kunstforening and Gallery D6 with two ceramics - Kjersti Teigen and Lene Tori Obel Bugge. The main piece here was Twelve Stars. I also sold one of the small Passepartout-Passport paintings and Frameworks 2.
After that I did the show I had focused on during the spring and summer - Distal End at No13 Contemporary in Fredrikstad, where I among others showed the two works Distal View - Trandum and Distal View - Ullevål.
Last I did a sort of compound exhibition of works from the whole year at Levanger Kunstforening, where I also showed Lesvos from 2016 again. And I sold five of the Passepartout-Passport paintings.
The final thing I did in 2017 was participating in Hanan Benammers annually Winter Solstice event. I showed the three Distal Object paintings.
It seems 2018 also going to be busy. In March I´m exhibiting at Gjøvik Kunstforening and then there is Gallery Jessheim, Ullensaker Kunstforening in June. In August Drøbak Kunstforening and Konsthallen Lokstallet in Strömstad, Sweden. That show includes Erland Brand and Jenny Magnusson and will tour to Konsthallen Trollhättan in October, when I also will make an exhibition at my old professor Jon-Arne Mogstads artspace Surnadal Billag.
Looking very much forward to this!
