Language Wraps Itself Around The Hard Kernel Of Reality Like A Thin Coat Of Paint | Buer Gallery

At the beginning of August, I opened the season with my second solo exhibition at Buer Gallery. I had been working with this exhibition in mind for two years, particularly the last six months when I produced the monumental #518 Omega for one of the gallery's high walls. I permitted myself to experiment more with sculptural and installation works. I finally got to show #486 Language Lesson, which I consider a key work.

I'm pleased with how the exhibition turned out. It is more complex, perhaps less focused, than the last one, as I chose works from the whole period since the previous exhibition. But in that sense, I think it also shows a greater variety and thus shows a more accurate version of my artistic project. Still, it focuses on works in the Speaking Stones series and shows its whole range of themes. Read my draft for a press release here.

Here are images from the installation. My daughter helped me move the works from my studio (which had 60 panels and many other things!). The gallery had hired professional help, so the process went smoothly.

The opening was tremendous fun! Many people showed up, including friends of mine, associates to the gallery and others. Two old friends, Patrik Gustavsson and Yngve Rådberg, came all the way from Stockholm. Sapideh also brought a crowd of fellow Palestine activists.

Afterwards, we went to Laboratoriet, a nearby restaurant, for dinner. When they closed, a few of us took the evening further at Cafekontoret, my favourite local pub.
