#115 Chewing Gum

#115 Chewing Gum

125x160 cm | Filler, oak frame

  • About

The work is made by pressing down the filler vertically until it reaches a depth of 6mm.

As the title indicates it is suppose to resemble chewing gums pressed down on the pavement. Among other things, the work deals with antisocial behaviour as a form of subconscious, or involuntary, but nevertheless subversive, respons to an alienated position.

  • Press

Press is an array of works made by pressing down the filler with a horizontal plane, thus expanding it outwards.

Reminiscent of Richard Serra's Verb List I try to use simple and clearly defined actions to shape the filler in my works. This way there is always non-cognitive aspects of the production process.
